Grace Melody Juell

3rd Place - Musical Theater


Grace is a member of the Classical Voice Conservatory at Orange County School of the Arts,  performing in their elite professional group, Bel Canto Singers. In April, she will perform the principal role of Le Princesse, in the opera, L’enfant et les Sortileges at OCSA Symphony Hall. In her last opera appearance, Die Fledermaus, Grace enjoyed making the audience laugh throughout the show as the comedic role. Grace was a featured soloist in Carmina Burana directed by Maestro Grant Gershon at the Musco Center. Grace also recently studied with Frederica von Stade, and Ann Baltz.

Grace recently won 1st place in three vocal competitions: NATS-LA, and Vo-CAL, in Musical Theater; and South Coast Symphony in Classical. She was also selected as the recipient of the Rising Young Artist award by Lyric Opera OC for her, Les Oiseaux dans la charmille, performance. Grace was awarded an educational scholarship by the LA Opera to attend all the Operas at Dorothy Chandler this season with a guest. She was also honored with the Dedication to Artistry award by her conservatory.

Grace is also a visual artist, has an affinity for languages practices her Swedish with an app, her Spanish with her dad, and is taking Latin online through Brigham Young University.
